We are Foundation Homes.
—and we believe it should be managed with the same strategy, standards, and financial discipline as any successful investment.
we help results-driven property owners earn more, avoid problem tenants, and stop getting dragged into the day-to-day of running a rental business. We do that by monitoring–and taking care of–every little detail, so you can focus on your toes-in-the-sand landlord lifestyle, not late night maintenance texts.
on every detail that matters. Our team is proactive, provides clear communication, and delivers results built to protect your time, your asset(s), and your peace of mind.
We’re a local, high-touch team with deep expertise across San Francisco and Marin County—and we’ve built our service model around responsiveness and accountability.

Christopher Barrow grew up in Marin County and comes from a third-generation San Francisco family. His path into real estate began unexpectedly while working a corporate job, when he watched his wife Darcy close a lease deal in about 45 minutes. Realizing he might be in the wrong business, he earned his real estate license soon after. Five years later, he launched Foundation Homes Property Management with just $17,000 and a clear vision for building a thoughtful, client-focused company.
Christopher is known for being intentional, curious, a little quirky, and quick to laugh. Outside of work, he lives a challenge-based lifestyle and starts most mornings with a workout. He has completed the Escape from Alcatraz Triathlon six times and recently marked his 50th birthday by competing in the Puerto Rico Half Ironman. He also enjoys mountain biking with his son, spending time with his daughter, and walking or throwing the ball with his two dogs, Briggs and Rosie.
At Foundation Homes, Christopher focuses on coaching the team, building strong systems, and ensuring property owners receive clear communication and thoughtful guidance while running their rental like the business it is.
Darcy grew up in Malibu, California and brings an energetic, detail-oriented spirit to everything she does. She originally discovered real estate in 2002 after spotting a Craigslist ad for a leasing agent and quickly fell in love with the industry. Creative by nature, Darcy enjoys the art of positioning homes, crafting marketing, and uncovering what makes each property stand out.
Outside of work, she’s happiest doing yoga, cooking healthy meals, and spending time outside with her husband, their two kids, and their dogs — including the occasional foster puppy. She’s also a self-proclaimed travel “points junkie” and can happily geek out about maximizing credit card rewards for international adventures. A perfect day for Darcy starts with sunshine, coffee, and a walk with her family.
As COO and Co-Founder of Foundation Homes, Darcy focuses on the creative and operational side of the business — helping position homes effectively while guiding owners and tenants toward the right fit.
Shawn Walker grew up in sunny San Clemente and has called Marin home for the past 15 years. He’s an early bird who thrives on sunshine, strong coffee, good food, and staying active, whether that’s pounding out miles on a distance run or hitting the trails.
When he’s not working, Shawn’s perfect day starts with grabbing a mocha and croissant at his favorite local coffee shop alongside his wife Vlada and their two-year-old son Alex, then heading out for a family adventure: a hike with their two German Shepherds (Dago and the wonderfully nutty Dobby), a beach day, or maybe an amusement park outing. He loves exploring new vineyards on weekends and gets a kick out of his son’s endless ability to make him laugh.
At Foundation Homes, Shawn serves as Business Development Manager. After years at Apple (where he was a Lead Genius), his passion for real estate investing led him to earn his license and eventually dive fully into property management. What lights him up most is problem-solving for longtime clients and building genuine relationships—being honest, upfront (sometimes bluntly so), and showing property owners the real advantages of partnering with a team that prioritizes clear communication and putting clients first.
Heather Sorber is originally from Upstate New York, and she brings that grounded, straightforward energy into everything she does. Personable, efficient, and a little witty, she starts each day the same way — with a fresh perspective and that first, sacred sip of coffee. After 20 years working with youth, Heather was ready for a new challenge and was drawn to the dynamic world of property management, where no two days are ever the same.
At Foundation Homes, she serves as Director of Property Management, and what she loves most is helping people find a home they truly love. A natural people person, she thrives on problem-solving, meaningful conversations, and building genuine relationships.
Outside of work, Heather’s world revolves around her three children and grandson. Sunday dinners at her parents’ table, time in nature, baking, and decorating keep her grounded and energized.
Khristine Castillo grew up in the Bay Area after moving from the Philippines and has spent much of her life in the East Bay communities she now enjoys serving through her work. Friends and coworkers often describe her as upbeat, resilient, and someone who brings positive energy wherever she goes.
Outside of work, Khristine enjoys staying active and is currently training for both a half marathon and a full marathon. When she’s not running, you’ll likely find her trying new restaurants, spending time at the beach, reading, or baking small desserts for friends and special occasions.
At Foundation Homes, Khristine works as a Portfolio Advisor where she enjoys connecting with people and helping tenants find homes they’re excited about while supporting property owners through the process. She takes pride in staying authentic, working hard, and being someone others can rely on.

Originally from a very small town in North Dakota, Drew’s passion for real estate took off after purchasing a property at a young age in Chicago—and it’s only grown since. Coworkers describe him as reliable, fun, and trustworthy. He brings a warm, inviting approach to every interaction and always strives to do the right thing. Drew loves seeing different homes and guiding buyers and sellers through their real estate transactions, while helping property owners enjoy worry-free management and sharing in tenants’ excitement to live in beautiful homes. Outside of work, he’s motivated by his kids and family, and feels most energized watching his children excel. A perfect day includes a hike, brunch (especially pancakes for the kids), beach time, and a backyard BBQ. He also enjoys cooking, music, traveling, and life with Teddy, the family-favorite cockapoo.
Sheila is Ohio born and raised, and she carries that steady Midwest warmth into everything she does. She’s a natural early bird with a black coffee in hand, greeting each day with energy and a true “get it done” attitude. Organized to her core and known for her leadership and respect for others, Sheila thrives on staying busy. When she’s not working behind the scenes, she’s often still working — as a real estate agent, occasionally door dashing, or diving into a creative acrylic painting project. She loves thrifting with her sisters, spending weekends with family, and holding space for faith and friendship. Her beloved dog, Orion, who passed in December 2025, will always have her heart.
At Foundation Homes Property Management, Sheila keeps daily operations moving smoothly and supports the team every step of the way. No two days are ever the same — and that’s exactly how she likes it. She truly considers FHPM family and loves serving both the team and the people they support.

Outside of work, a perfect day for Aldo usually includes a good barbecue with friends or family, relaxing at home, or planning his next trip somewhere new.
At Foundation Homes, Aldo works in Resident Services where he carefully reviews rental applications and helps guide residents through the move-in and move-out process. Known internally as someone who jumps in wherever help is needed, he has become a bit of a jack-of-all-trades on the team, helping improve processes and making sure nothing slips through the cracks.
Adrian Gutierrez is the Maintenance Coordinator at Foundation Homes and a proud native of León, Guanajuato, México. Coworkers often describe him as funny, loyal, and dedicated—someone who approaches both work and life with a steady sense of humor. Outside of work, Adrian enjoys the simple things: a good meal, a relaxing shower, and winding down with a movie. Weekends often find him watching films—especially anything starring Jim Carrey—or playing video games. Adrian has a soft spot for animals and cares for two stray dogs that stop by to visit him from time to time.
Adrian discovered property management while searching for work-from-home opportunities that would allow him to take care of her mother during the pandemic. In his role, he enjoys helping tenants solve problems and appreciates that every day brings a chance to learn something new. Guided by integrity and motivated by his goals and family, he values the friendships he’s built with his teammates at Foundation Homes.
